What is customer relationship management?

CRM controls the interaction between your company with customers and prospects throughout the sales and business cycle.  It gives you a 360° view of your customer, what they buy, how they are taken care of, and what else they need.

When should I start tracking my customer’s activity?

Before they become a customer.  Knowing what’s working from a marketing, sales, customer service and support perspective helps you maximize your return on the investment it takes to make and retain each customers. 

Which departments within my company should have access to the CRM database?

While you can control access to various areas within your database, the majority of customer data should be available to all departments for a true view of the customer.  Every department should be involved and proactive.
